Business Parks and Innovation Centres
With 6,500 new jobs already created at the highly-successful Crossways Business Park in Dartford, the nearby mixed-use development at The Bridge also has 1.5million sq. ft. of business space, and the potential for a further 7,500 jobs.
Already a North Kent icon, Bluewater is also a retail management centre of excellence and its Learning Shop offers on-line learning opportunities to the local community and businesses.
A variety of new centres for innovative businesses have also emerged, including The Nucleus and The Base in Dartford, the Innovation Centre Medway at Chatham and the Joiner’s Shop for creative industries at Chatham Historic Dockyard. Work is underway to link these with other business centres in Kent to create an Innovation Corridor.
Investments have also been made to Sittingbourne's Kent Science Park, where additional commercial space is expected to bring anouther 400 jobs to the area by 2014, and to the Eurolink Business Park which provides 6,000 jobs and has further development potential.
